Canada Wildrye
A staple cool season grass of the tallgrass prairie and open woodlands. In Missouri this species is less common than other wildryes and is mostly found in small pockets in cool, moist areas. Canada wildrye has excellent forage value and is useful in mixtures with native warm season grasses to extend the grazing season. Wildrye species are useful to provide height and ground cover in informal wildflower plantings.
