Maximilian Sunflower
Maximilian sunflower is a perennial member of the sunflower family that is common in open grasslands and nutrient rich soils. All classes of livestock readily consume this species. Blooming occurs in late summer. Yellow blooms are held at the top of the stalk and are a nice addition to pollinator plantings. This species can spread by rhizomes and will quickly colonize new areas. This trait makes it adaptable to grazing, but possibly aggressive in small beds.
