Roundhead Lespedeza
Roundhead lespedeza is a tall native legume that is found in many ecosystems including prairies, glades and savannas. This species is a great addition to pasture plantings and provides nitrogen to other plants and higher forage value within the stand. White pea – like flowers are clustered together in “heads” at the top of the plant. This species is easy to distinguish from other native legumes by its short hairs on leaves and stems.
