Scaly Blazingstar
Scaly Blazingstar is found primarily in glades, savannas, flatwoods, and wood edges. This is one of the shorter liatris species and is useful in home landscapes and dry sites. Purple blooms last from late July through August. Flowers are large for a blazingstar and occur on “cones” held on the upper third of the plant. This species is a great nectar and pollen source in late summer.
