Maryland Senna

Senna marilandica

Maryland senna is a tall native legume found in wooded areas, prairies, pastures, and savannas. Maryland senna is a great pollinator species and is the host plant for many butterfly species. This plant is slightly toxic, but is generally avoided by livestock and deer. In the home landscape this plant can be somewhat aggressive.
