Wild Quinine
Parthenium hispidum
Wild quinine is found in dry habitats including prairies, glades and roadsides. Blooms are white and clusters of flowers form a flat topped umbel. Flowering occurs in July and August. This species is very drought tolerant and can be added to any planting on dry sites or exposed subsoil. Wild quinine is a good plant for beds and smaller plantings as it provides a short white balance to taller showier species.
