White Prairie Clover

Dalea candida

White prairie clover is found throughout the plains and Midwest. This species occurs on a variety of sites. Highly adaptable, white prairie clover is found on rich prairie soils and shallow glades. This species is readily grazed by livestock and the white flowers are a magnet for many bees. White prairie clover often has low seed dormancy levels and is tolerant of some herbicides used in native pasture establishment. These attributes make it an easy way to add legumes into a new or existing stand of native warm season grasses.
