Wild Bergamot, Beebalm
Monarda fistulosa
Beebalm is an iconic species of prairies and savannas and useful in pastures, wildlife plantings and the home garden. Pink flowers occur from late May until July and are visited by many beneficial pollinator species. Plants tend to have a uniform and compact shape. Beebalm is a great plant for the home garden because deer seldom eat this plant. In pasture plantings beebalm can be useful to add pollinator friendly species that can withstand some cattle grazing.
